The Mysterious Benedict Society series 

by Trenton Lee Stewart


In this series, four children, each with a gifted talent, are brought together to help a man named Nicholas Benedict. Students will love the brain puzzles the book characters have to solve and how they cooperate with one another. Gifted students can relate to these children, as they all think a little bit differently and have unique talents. 


There is also a show based on the books now on Disney+.

Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper

In this novel, a twice-exceptional fifth grade girl struggles with her mind and her disability. She was born with cerebral palsy and has never spoken a word. Though she has physical limitations, she has a brilliant mind and is trying to be heard by others. Students can see that though one may look different on the outside, their mind inside can have many talents.

Ungifted by Gordon Korman

In this story, a student in trouble accidentally gets placed at a special school for gifted and talented students. He struggles in school but realizes that he is gifted, just in a different way. Students will be able to recognize that being gifted is not a one-size-fits-all and that anyone can have a special gift, even outside of their IQ score.
