These books are great for primary teachers with gifted students. Each box set contains 8 books focusing on a general theme, such as having a growth mindset. These books are not only beneficial to gifted students, but to all students in the class. Gifted students are like to asynchronously develop in which the 'age' of their cognitive, emotional, and physical factors do not all line up. Starting with a strong foundation of skills like this can help instill good actions in a gifted student.

Gifted and Talented Workbook for Kids by Rachel Martino

This workbook holds 101 activities for a gifted child to explore. It can be hard to support younger gifted students, but this book shares resources for parents or teachers to readily use. It also dives into the 'how' and 'why' of gifted learners and their thinking process to help prepare teachers to support and differentiate appropriately for them.

Young, Gifted and Black by Jamia Wilson

In this book, 52 stories of gifted black heroes are shared. This will allow gifted students, specifically those belonging to minority groups, see themselves represented positively.

The 125 Best Brain Teasers of All Time by Marcel Danesi

This book combines various styles of brain teasers with brief history lessons. As a teacher, one can pull a puzzle from the book and share it with the class and let them think. Discussion can occur and then once the answer is revealed, the history snippet can be shared. The puzzles increase in difficulty as the book goes on!

Bright Not Broken by Diane M. Kennedy, Rebecca S. Banks, with Temple Grandin

This book explores a population many overlook: those that are twice-exceptional. Many times, people solely focus on the weaknesses of these students, not the gifts that they may have. This book helps educators (and parents) of twice-exceptional students so that they may reach their full potential.

Differentiation for Gifted Learners by Diane Heacox and Richard M. Cash

This book is a fantastic tool for educators. It clearly outlines the characteristics of gifted students, how the brain works, what best practices are for teaching gifted learners, how to reverse underachievement, and more. There is an entire section dedicated to deepening the questioning and depth of knowledge for activities.
